Electric service in the City is provided by Pacific Power, an investor-owned utility, and Emerald People’s Utility District (EPUD), a publicly-owned utility. Natural gas is available from Northwest Natural. Lane Electric Cooperative also operates in the greater Cottage Grove area. Charter Communications provides local cable service. A private garbage company, Cottage Grove Garbage, has a franchise to pick up trash and recycling materials. 

 The City of Cottage Grove provides water and sewer service inside the City and partial service to some adjacent areas. Recently a new fiber optic Wi-Fi system has been built throughout the City which provides internet service for businesses and residences.

 Telephone service is provided by Qwest Communications. Cellular and paging services are also available from a number of providers.
