All America City
Cottage Grove was named “All American City” on June 12, 2004 in Atlanta, GA. Sponsored by the National Civic League, this annual award recognizes ten cities who have accomplished much – Cottage Grove has now received this award twice!
“The All-America City Award encourages and recognizes civic excellence, honoring the communities in which citizens, government, businesses and nonprofit organizations demonstrate successful resolution of critical community issues. Since 1949, more than 4,000 communities have competed and nearly 500 have been designated All-America Cities.” National Civic League
A delegation of 40 community leaders presented our city during the League’s final round, competing against 29 other finalists. Cottage Grove is certainly the “Little City that Could…”
See the City of Cottage Grove’s website for more information. You can see pictures of the award ceremony and read the city’s application there.
We’re very proud of this accomplishment. Cottage Grove has won this award TWICe – Salem is the only other Oregon city to have won this award twice. Congratulations to everyone who has made Cottage Grove the incredible place to live that it is!
