Director's Desk

As Executive Director of the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, I’ve had a chance to learn a lot about our community and I can tell you that Cottage Grove is a town full of incredible things. We are the Covered Bridge Capital of the West and home to the last remaining covered railroad bridge this side of the Mississippi River. We also host the Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway which offers some of the most picturesque and family friendly bicycling opportunities in the state. We have two lakes, two rivers, and 14 wineries within a short drive from town and our Downtown Historic District offers shopping and dining experiences that visitors will not soon forget. Summers are absolutely packed with events because of our consistently sunny days with high temperatures ranging from 75 to 80 degrees and our winters are so mild that most people don’t even own a snow shovel. The people who live here are equally impressive. Artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and innovators from all over the country have chosen to live in Cottage Grove. When you combine that with our timber and mining industry roots, it makes for a very diverse and well balanced structure for community and civic leadership.  At the Chamber we collaborate with numerous local businesses and leadership organizations. There is no stronger community than one that works together and we provide a voice for our businesses that is strong and well informed. I encourage all residents and visitors in our community to support these efforts by not only shopping locally whenever possible but shopping local Chamber members whenever possible. These are the people and businesses that have chosen to invest in the future prosperity of Cottage Grove. We succeed, when they succeed.  Use this website as your guide to know who to call on first for whatever goods and services you need. Thank you for supporting Cottage Grove.
